New, established, or somewhere in between,
we’re so glad you chose Greater Moncton.

Welcome to Magma

The Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area is a settlement agency that supports immigrants as they arrive, plant roots, and build a new home in New Brunswick’s largest and fastest growing city. We are non-profit organization. Everything we do is free of charge. And confidential.

MAGMA has been a part of our community for over thirty years. Started by three dedicated women around a small kitchen table, MAGMA is now a large organization committed to celebrating and promoting the power and potential of cultural diversity. In a word, we are you. And together, we are empowering our neighbourhoods and communities to gather, grow, and prosper.

MAGMA’s language department is now a testing site for the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP). As Canada’s leading language test, results are accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as a measure of functional language proficiency for those applying for citizenship, permanent residency, and professional designation.

The CELPIP test clearly, accurately, and precisely assesses a test taker’s English abilities to function in English across a wide variety of everyday situations. Listening, reading, writing, and speaking are each evaluated in separate timed segments.

Results are available online in just 4 to 5 calendar days after the test date.

MAGMA believes the best communities are built by families with an appreciation for diversity. We are that family. Everyone is welcome to be a part of it. No matter where you’re from, home is here.
